Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition is a remastered release of Dead Island: Riptide. In this revamped edition of the popular zombie survival game, players can look forward to a much more immersive experience that is highlighted by improved graphics and the inclusion of all previously released DLCs.

Fans of the original title will still be able to experience all of the thrilling features found in Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition. This includes the opportunity to work with friends in co-op mode and experience a gruesome, action-packed adventure riddled with visceral physics and engaging combat gameplay.

New and improved look

With Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition, you can experience the tropical island of Banoi from an entirely new perspective. In addition to reimagining the various sights and sceneries in ultra-crisp high-quality graphics, this remastered version also improves the look of all the character models and employs a more photorealistic lighting system. These allow players to better immerse themselves in the gameplay.

As previously mentioned, this edition also includes all of Dead Island: Riptide’s DLCs, so you can dive straight into all of the action without having to worry about missing integral parts of the story or losing out on obtaining an exclusive item. It still retains all the visceral physics and invigorating combat, so you can enjoy the thrill of taking down hordes of undead enemies.

The ability to experience the story with up to three other friends is also a plus, pushing your group to work together in order to survive. Unfortunately, this pack doesn’t add anything new to the gameplay or storyline. While it does improve on the original game’s look and feel, players who have already completed the game’s entirety can’t really expect much else.

Dead Island 2’s Steam debut

A year after its exclusive Epic Games Store release, Dead Island 2 is finally hitting another gaming client — Steam. It’s going to join the roster of Dead Island: Definitive Edition, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition, and Dead Island Retro Revenge. To celebrate the release, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition was obtainable for free for a day, and Dead Island Retro Revenge had a price reduction for a brief period. No significant changes or bonuses have been announced for Dead Island 2, however.

Doesn’t have anything new

Unless you haven’t played through much of the original game’s plot or if you’re missing a few DLCs, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition doesn’t exactly present anything groundbreaking apart from its improved graphics system. However, for new players or just hardcore fans of the franchise, this remastered pack would be a great way to experience the entirety of the title’s storyline and action.
